The Legislative Agenda For Florida’s Juvenile Justice System In 2017 Hernando County Criminal Lawyer Ocala Criminal Lawyer
Lawmakers have decided on what are their priorities when it comes to dealing with the juvenile justice system in Florida. It appears one of the main topics of discussion and points of emphasis will center around the decriminalization of juvenile offenses. This is important, because sometimes young people make mistakes, but rather than put them on a path in life where they are a part of the system, we should look for alternatives to intervene, rehabilitate and try to get them back on the right path while they are still young.
Other points of emphasis seem to include giving more money to the states Pace Center for girls, giving additional funds to combat truancy, and finally allocating additional money to an incentive program to try and keep staff in place, as there is a very high turnover rate.
Hopefully our legislature is able to find a way to do what is best for the children of this state during the next session, as our future depends on it.
